Our January Room at the Table was held on another frigid Saturday after several weeks of unusually cold weather. The menu was beef chili, rice, cornbread, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, ice cream and various cakes baked by parishioners and team members. We served coffee, in addition to our usual tea and water choices, and everyone was thrilled to have coffee with dessert.
We had 63 guests and 25 takeouts, with only cake and ice cream leftovers-- the guests were happy to take the rest of the chili for another coming week of winter weather. As they bundled up to leave, the guests stopped team members to say thank you, and to tell us how much they loved our chili.
The captains want to thank everyone who contributed. Team 2 is always so excited to cook and serve the community; we love our familiar guests and welcome new faces!
