Hands & Hearts
Hands & Hearts is the primary "in-reach" or pastoral care ministry at St. James. Working in conjunction with the pastoral care provided by the clergy, its mission is “To create a safety net in our ministry to each other at St. James so that all in need can feel confident that they are remembered and attended to with serious and consistent attention. In so doing, the secondary good is achieved by making all our church community aware of members’ needs and thereby more able to respond to them. A culture of care is our continual goal.”
Hands & Hearts attends to the spiritual needs of parishioners by maintaining a prayer list for parishioners. The group also attends to physical needs in many ways: committee members cook food for those who are ill or infirm, make hospital visits, bring to church those who are unable to drive, celebrate happy life events, and support grieving families. The committee strives to encourage and to look after parishioners. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Hogan Room (and on Zoom if needed). |

Saints on the Go
|
Many members of our St. James family enjoy spending time together. Saints on the Go, a group largely coordinated by but not limited to our senior members, is the vehicle for activities that bring members together. They plan for trips, dinners, movies, plays, and more. Days, times, and costs are announced in advance. If you would like to be added to their mailing list or for more information contact the church office. [We are still working to re-invigorate these happenings now that the worst of the pandemic is over.]
