The CARE Committee is the primary organization at St. James that directs outreach. The committee raises and manages funds that are directed to specific community agencies and endeavors to keep parishioners in touch with the work and the specific needs of those agencies.
Hands and Hearts was established to take care of the needs of Saint James Parishioners and their family members. Parishioners living in Caldwell County have been placed into seven geographical groupings. Each grouping has two captains who also reside in that area of the county. These captains watch out for the people in the group.Meetings are conducted to discuss the needs of parishioners and plan how to look after those in need. The chairperson of Hands and Hearts performs a vital role of taking information and composing Hands and Hearts emails that go out to the parish, informing everyone of what is going on with people in need.
The Art and Furnishings Committee makes recommendations for vestry consideration concerning the stewardship and maintenance of art and artifacts owned by the church. The committee is responsible for selection of decorative and architectural additions or replacements and evaluates the appropriateness of in-kind donations.
The Hospitality Committee promotes social activities and solicits hosts for the after service refreshments, third Sunday lunches and other special events. The committee provides necessary supplies and maintains the kitchen.
