The goal of Hands & Hearts Pastoral Care Ministries is to create a safety net in our ministry at Saint James so that all in need can feel confident that they are remembered and attended to with serious and consistent attention. In so doing, the secondary goal is achieved by making all of us aware of others' needs and thereby making us more able to respond.

When we minister to one another with our hands and our hearts, we are building up the Body of Christ - His Church. We are strengthening the Body by caring for its members. In turn, we attract others to Christ. One of the most powerful and attractive elements of Christianity is this type of mutual ministry. People want to be a part of a body of other people who are cheerfully serving one another and by extension, the world. We build the Body of Christ and we build up the specific body of believers at Saint James Episcopal Church when we mutually minister to one another, using our hands and hearts. While there are many members, there is only one body, of which we are all a part.
